Band: DARK MOOR

Partner: Enrik

What happened since the release of your last record?
We have gotten a very good response from the people, and we are very happy with how the record’s sales, and now we are touring in Spain until June, with another Spanish bands from our record company.

How satisfied are you with your new record (the songs, the sound)?
We have improved a lot because we have learned a lot from our producer, Luigi Stefanini, and he already knows better the band and we have included new ideas for this record we wanted to try.

What are the main differences between "The Hall Of Olden Dreams" and your new record?
It has been difficult to think about what could we make because we did not wanted to do the same record again, so we have worked hard, and we think we have a record which songs are more different between them and the topics of the lyrics have been also diverse.

How are the reactions of the press?
Quite good as we know, the reviews has been very positive, specially in Japan and Germany. But not only of the press but also from the fans who write us and tell us how did they founded this CD.

What can you say about the cover and the title?
The title wanted to express the idea we have about our will to forget all the bad moments the band passed in this last three years and the will to improve ourselves with what we learned from the mistakes we made. We wanted also to count on Andreas Marschall, because we think he is one of the best drawers nowadays. As you may see the cover represents a character which appeared also in the second CD, who represent the band, and he will trespass this Gates of Oblivion of a building which is in the top of a very difficult way. This way shows how difficult is to have a group and how much do we fight for it to reach a little success.

What can you tell us about your lyrics?
As I said before we have talked about a lot of different things, like fantastic literature (Nevermore), the situation of the women in the Arab countries (In the Heart of the Stone), about feelings (A truth for me), destiny (By the Strange paths………), fantasy (Starmaker), etc. Every member has its own likings and they are shown in these lyrics.

How does the songwriting process work in your band?
Everybody composes and collaborates in the band. Our process is that everyone composes a ‘basic’ song with all the instrumentation and then the rest of the group sees it and then we decided what will be change or not and finally we make the final songs.

How would you describe your music on your own?
I would describe it as a mixture between Heavy metal and Classical music, with some touches of medieval music. Of course there are included all our influences in a higher or lower way.

How was the work with your guest musicians (the italian choir Valcavasia and the singer of cydonia)?
It has been fantastic! The bigger problem was to record with the choir, because it was the first time we did it, but finally we were very satisfied with the result we got and it has been an excellent experience!

Do you have any idols?
Yes, genius from Mozart to Freddy Mercury. Definitely all those who had written an important page in music’s history.

What are you doing personally (working, studying…)?
Most of us are working. Jorge and Enrik work with their parents, Alberto is in an insurance company, Elisa works in a transport office, Anán installing telephone and internet lines and I am now unemployed, but I am looking job in a TV producer company as a cameraman or video editor.

If you have the chance to record an album with all musicians you like, which musicians will these be?
Maybe people like Freddy Mercury, Steve Vai, Tarja, André Matos,………….. I don’t know the list would be without end.

What was the craziest live gig of your band? Why?
The craziest concerts were two years ago in Portugal, where the first one was very nice, because the people who organized it was fantastic and very nice with us and we have that concert in Leiria in our minds as something unforgettable, but the next day was like hell!, we had to play in another city in the ‘Steel Warriors fest’ and we had a lot of problems because we had to travel all night a lot of km., the police steeled us money, the place where the concert was going to be was almost a rubbish tip……..It was terrible!

Do you have any last words?
Viel Dank Leute, wir hoffen wir sehen uns bald!
